  • 1 1/2 cups of flour, 3/4 cups cornstarch
  • Baking powder about 1 ½
  • Salt, kosher, 1/2 teaspoon
  • The equivalent of one pound of shrimp, cleaned and deveined
  • 1 1/2 cups of iced club soda
  • Frying with canola oil
  • Boom Boom Sauce

Boom Boom Sauce

  • One-third cup of mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • One teaspoon of roasted sesame oil
  • Flavor enhancer: chopped green onions

Instructions

How to make boom boom shrimps

  • Mix flour, cornstarch, Cold club cola, and salt. Well-blended
  • Heat canola oil to 375°F in a big heavy-bottomed skillet or saucepan. Use an oil thermometer.
  • 4 to 5 shrimp in each skewer. Using a medium or big shrimp, use 3 per skewer.
  • Soak the shrimp in the flour-cola batter until they're covered.
  • Fry the shrimp for 3 to 4 minutes till golden brown after the oil is hot.
  • Fry shrimp and drain on paper towels.
  • Mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sesame oil to produce Boom-Boom sauce. Green onions are optional.
  • Fry shrimp skewers.
