Ingredients

  • 1 envelope of Lipton's Recipe Secrets the Onion Soup Base
  • Two pounds of ground meat, either beef or turkey
  • Half a cup of regular dry bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • Water, about three-quarters of a cup
  • One-third of a cup of ketchup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  • Make a loaf form in a baking or roasting pan that is 13 by 9 inches. Before placing the meatloaf in the pan, prepare the pan by lining it with aluminum foil and spraying it with a cooking spray that is designed to prevent food from sticking.
  • Bake for one hour, or until the food is completely done.
  • After letting it stand for ten minutes, serve.

Notes

  • Use a combination of ground beef and pork for a more flavorful meatloaf. The beef adds richness and flavor, while the pork adds moisture and tenderness.
  • Add in some diced vegetables, such as onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms, to the meat mixture for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Mix the ingredients gently to avoid overworking the meat, which can make the meatloaf tough.
  • Make a small indentation in the center of the meatloaf before baking to help it cook evenly and prevent it from puffing up in the center.
  • Bake the meatloaf until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) to ensure that it is cooked through and safe to eat.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving to allow the juices to redistribute and make it easier to slice.
  • You can also customize the topping by using different types of sauces or adding grated cheese on top of the meatloaf before baking.
  • Serve the meatloaf with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, gravy, and vegetables, to complete the meal.
