Preheat to 400 F.
Oil a 9-inch glass pie plate.
Heat oil in a big skillet and cook onion for 3 minutes.
Add ground beef and simmer until browned, about 10 minutes.
Salt and pepper the beef. Garlic powder is optional.
Once cooked, spread the beef mixture in a pie pan.
Cover beef with cheddar cheese.
Whisk Original Bisquick mix or flour with milk and eggs.
Combine the beef with the batter.
It should take about 20–25 minutes in the oven before a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
