Tim Hortons Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of ground meat
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • Two to three diced onions
  • Three diced celery stalks
  • One diced green pepper
  • 1 (19-ounce) rinsed and drained can of dark red kidney beans
  • 2 (10-ounce) cans of chopped, drained, and rinsed mushroom pieces
  • 2 (10-ounce) cans of undiluted tomato broth
  • Split into two tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1 tsp. of oregano
  • One spoonful of salt
  • 1/4 tsp. of pepper
  • One spoonful of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of garlic powder or 1 to 2 minced garlic cloves

Instructions

  • Once no longer pink, brown the minced beef in the olive oil in a big skillet over medium heat. Transfer to a big pot. Avoid draining.
  • In the same frying skillet as the ground beef, sauté onion, celery, and green pepper for about 5 minutes, or until onion is translucent.
  • A little chili pepper should be added.
  • Mix some vegetables in with the ground meat.
  • Add the kidney beans, the chopped mushrooms, the undiluted tomato soup, and the tomatoes with the juice.
  • Add the remaining garlic, salt, pepper, sugar, and chili powder.
  • Mix the components thoroughly.
  • One hour of simmering with the lid on while stirring periodically.
  • Remove the cover, simmer for at least 30 minutes, and stir periodically.
