Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh corn kernels
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Corn

  • Cut the fresh corn kernels from the cobs using a knife. Set aside.

Make the Cream Sauce

  • Over medium heat use a medium-sized saucepan, to melt the butter.
  • Add flour and keep whisking to make a roux consistently. Cook for 1-2 minutes until it's lightly golden.

Combine Ingredients

  • Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking to avoid lumps.
  • Add the fresh corn kernels and sugar to the mixture. Stir well to combine.

Simmer and Season

  • Turn the heat down and let it gently cook for 10-15 minutes, so the flavors can mix together nicely.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve

  • Once the creamed corn reaches a creamy consistency, remove it from the heat.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs if desired.
