Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Add the cold, cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or fork to cut it into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add in the buttermilk and stir until the dough becomes thick.
  • Put the dough on a plane surface and gently knead it a few times.
  • Roll the dough to 1/2-inch thickness and use a round cookie cutter to cut out biscuits.
  • Place the biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Set the timing for 12-15 minutes and bake.
