Ingredients

  • 2 pounds cube steak
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  • Dredge each cube steak in the flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • Over medium-high heat in a large skillet heat the vegetable oil. Brown the cube steaks on both sides, then transfer them to your crockpot.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until they become translucent.
  • Pour in the beef broth and use a whisk to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Pour this mixture over the cube steaks in the crockpot.
  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the cube steaks are tender and the gravy has thickened.
