Equipment

  • A skillet for cooking the ground beef

  • and a spatula for spreading the cheese sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • Condensed cream of mushroom soup 1 can (10.75 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is softened. Drain any excess grease.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Add the cooked ground beef and onion to the mixing bowl and stir until everything is well combined.
  • Into a 9x13 inch baking dish pour the mixture.
  • On top of the beef mixture arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer.
  • Bake the casserole for 25 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top by removing the casserole from the oven.
  • Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • After removing it from the oven let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
