Popcorn Sutton Apple Pie Moonshine Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon of apple juice
  • 1 gallon of apple cider
  • 4 cups of granulated sugar
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 750ml of 190-proof grain alcohol (everclear or moonshine)

Instructions

  • In your large stockpot, combine the apple juice, apple cider, and granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Add the cinnamon sticks to the mixture. Simmer the liquid over medium heat, allowing the cinnamon to infuse for around 20 minutes.
  • Once the mixture cools down, add the 190-proof grain alcohol. Be cautious, as this alcohol is highly flammable.
  • Use a funnel and a piece of cheesecloth to strain the moonshine into mason jars. Seal the jars tightly with lids.
  • Allow your moonshine to mellow for a few weeks, if you can wait that long. The flavors will deepen and mellow over time.
