Instructions

Prepare the Roux

  • Use a saucepan over medium heat to melt the butter.
  • To create a smooth roux slowly whisk in the flour. Cook for 2-3 minutes until it turns a golden brown color.

Infuse Flavors

  • Slowly pour in the chicken broth, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Add onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and dried thyme.
  • Allow the mixture to simmer over low heat until it thickens to your desired consistency, stirring occasionally.

Season and Serve

  • Taste the gravy and add salt as needed.
  • Once the gravy reaches the desired thickness, remove it from heat.
