Ingredients
2 cups of cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1/2 teaspoon of cumin
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
Instructions
Over medium heat melt butter in a medium saucepan.
Once the butter has melted, add the flour to the pan and whisk until well combined. Continue whisking for about 1 minute to cook off the raw flour taste.
Gradually pour the milk into the mixture while continuously whisking to prevent the formation of any lumps.
Add the salt, chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder to the saucepan. Stir well to incorporate the spices into the mixture.
Reduce the heat to low and gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese has melted completely and the sauce is smooth and creamy. This should take around 5-7 minutes.
Once the sauce achieves the desired thickness, take it off the heat.
