Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water

Instructions

  • Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Add the vegetable oil and warm water, then mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for a few minutes until it's smooth.
  • Separate the dough into 8 equal parts and roll them into balls.
  • Roll each ball into a thin, round tortilla using a rolling pin.
  • Over medium-high heat put a non-stick skillet or griddle and heat.
  • Cook each tortilla for about 30 seconds on each side, or until it puffs up and has golden brown spots.
  • Keep the tortillas warm by covering them with a clean kitchen towel until serving.
