There is nothing else quite like the legendary cinnamon bread sold at Dollywood. This tender pull-apart bread is an absolute must-try thanks to its coating of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. This gooey morning delight will be a hit with everyone in your household.
Ingredients
Ingredients For the bread
- Spray oil made from vegetables
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 pound of defrosted frozen bread dough
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) of melted butter
Ingredients for the glaze
- Powdered sugar (1 cup)
- Water (or lemon juice) (2-3 teaspoons) to taste
Instructions
- Spray two loaf pans measuring 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches with a cooking spray containing vegetable oil.
- Put the sugar and cinnamon on a plate that’s not too deep, and then set it aside.
- Separate the dough into two equal pieces by cutting it lengthwise. Each piece should have four crosswise slits cut into it, but you should take care not to cut all the way through. Spread butter all over the loaves, paying particular attention to getting them into the wrinkles. Roll each loaf in the cinnamon mixture, pressing it into the cracks and crevices with your hands as you go. After placing the loaves in the pans that have been prepared, put them in a warm location so that they can rise for half an hour. Prepare the bread by preheating the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit while it is rising.
- Bake the bread for thirty-five minutes, giving the pans a quarter turn halfway through, or until the top is brown and a hollow sound may be produced by tapping the bottom of the pan.
- In the meantime, prepare the glaze. Powdered sugar and water should be mixed together in a small bowl using a vigorous stirring motion until the mixture is completely smooth and free of any lumps. While the loaves are still warm, remove them from the pan and place them on a rack. Drizzle them with the glaze.
