Mellow Mushroom Pretzels

Mellow Mushroom Pretzels

We can all probably picture the distinctive flavor of a Mellow Mushroom pretzel! There are no other soft pretzels like this one. Garlic butter brushed on top and parmesan cheese sprinkled on top! You’ll be making these frequently because this recipe is so similar to the original.

Pretzels are actually baked by Mellow Mushroom right in the pizza oven! So, a baking soda bath is not used when making them. Actually, you can also make pizza using this dough. It serves both, just like theirs does.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups of flour
  • To make, combine 1 cup of water with 2 tablespoons
  • 1/2 tablespoon of dry active yeast
  • 1/2 cup table salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon of molasses
  • A Half Tablespoon of Vegetable Oil
  • Two Tablespoons of Butter, Softened
  • Parmesan cheese and 1 minced garlic clove

Instructions

  1. Add the active dry yeast after warming the water.
  2. When foamy, let this settle for 5 minutes.
  3. Add honey, molasses, and vegetable oil to this.
  4. Flour and salt should be put into the bowl of a stand mixer.
  5. Add the liquid ingredients.
  6. Knead the dough on low for five minutes with a dough hook attachment.
  7. Take the dough by the spoonful and form it into a tight ball.
  8. Put the ball back in, cover it, and give it two hours to rise.
  9. On a counter, roll out the dough.
  10. Set the oven to 450°F.
  11. Divide the dough into six equal pieces (roughly 4 oz pieces)
  12. Each piece of dough should be rolled into a 36-inch-long rope using damp hands. If necessary, keep lightly wetting your hands throughout the process (for traction)
  13. The dough shouldn’t snap if you pick up the ends and repeatedly slap it on the counter since it is strong.
  14. Twist to form a pretzel shape, twice twisting the central twist (double a normal twist)
  15. Put the ends of the pretzel under.
  16. On a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, spread out the pretzels.
  17. 8-minute baking.
  18. Turn oven to broil and cook for two minutes, watching it carefully to prevent burning.
  19. Combine the minced garlic clove with the 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
  20. Add butter and garlic with a brush, then top with parmesan
  21. Serve.

Yes, you can freeze these pretzels. Allow them to cool completely and then store them in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw them at room temperature and then warm them in the oven for a few minutes.
